The Ibanez Jake Bowen Signature JBM9999 6-string electric guitar is a powerhouse shredder with sleek aesthetics and smooth playability. Just as each new Periphery release seems to morph progressive metal another 180 degrees, Jake Bowen—the source of the band’s rich tapestry of guitar-based ambient soundscapes—has also moved the boundaries of guitar design and performance with his Ibanez signature instrument, the JBM.
The JBM9999 has a basswood body for natural sound, paired with a 5-piece maple/walnut neck for tonal clarity. The ebony fingerboard delivers tight lows and mid range with a strong attack in the high end, plus a quick response and rich sustain. It has 27 jumbo-sized frets with Prestige fret edge treatment—the size offers good articulation when playing chords, and the quantity is designed for lead players and shredders who make their homes in the higher octaves. The JBM9999’s sound is driven by a duo of custom pickups—a single-coil at the neck and a humbucker at the bridge—plus 5-way switching and a master Volume control. Additional appointments include Gotoh MG-T locking machine head tuners for enhanced tuning stability, Luminlay side dots for ease in seeing fretboard position and a Gibraltar Elite bridge. Comes with an Ibanez hardshell case.
