The Gibson Acoustic Hummingbird Red Spruce Acoustic-electric Guitar in Tri-Burst takes Gibson’s legendary 1960 square-shouldered dreadnought and elevates it with a powerful, custom-spec tonewood pairing. Departing from the traditional Sitka spruce and mahogany build, this model combines a Red Spruce (Adirondack) top with rosewood back and sides, resulting in exceptional projection, rich bass response, and lush high-end overtones that strummed chords and flatpicked leads demand. Visually, it retains all the classic vintage flair—including split parallelogram fingerboard inlays and the signature engraved hummingbird pickguard—while benefiting from modern performance features like stage-ready LR Baggs VTC electronics, a comfortable Rounded-profile mahogany neck, and a nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
All instruments from Music Makers are professionally evaluated and set-up in our historic Galesburg, IL. storefront prior to shipping.
